Frequently Asked Questions

How much does therapy cost?
My fee is $150 per 50 minute session.

Do you take insurance?
I don’t. I am happy to provide a superbill upon request, which has information for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan.

How does payment work?
I collect payment at each session; they cannot be paid in advance or in bulk. Payments are accepted by cash or credit card.

Will I need to come every week?
In the beginning, yes. It’s important for us to spend time getting acquainted and aligning on goals and approach. More sporadic meetings work against needed momentum in this area. Of course, you are never beholden and can stop therapy any time.

What if we’re not a good fit after we meet?
If this happens and you are willing to let me know, I might be able to help you identify an approach that is a better fit or offer a referral.

What is the first session like?
Easy-going and conversational, not an interview and not a deep dive. I will likely ask a few follow-up questions based on your intake questionnaire, and there will be space for us to talk more about what brings you in. Therapy is individualized from the beginning, so I will meet you with what you need.

I see you’re into art. Are you going to make me do collages?
Haha I would never, but the supplies are available! Some clients like using art, some don’t.
